Tower Tip: Updates and an Experiment

Kristi Provides a Progress Check on Her Garden Tower® 2 System and an Update on Her Experiment

A few months ago, resident Garden Tower® 2 vertical gardening system expert and master gardener Kristi Armes planted a new Garden Tower® 2 system. In this latest video, she checks in on her Garden Tower® 2 system’s progress and provides updates on her experiment.

Video and Notes

Since planting her Garden Tower® 2 system, the kale has grown and is ready for harvest. Some leaves needed to be clipped to keep them from shading the plants around them, and other plants need to be trellised.

In this video, Kristi demonstrates how to plant asparagus, and recommends planting tomatoes around the bed, as well as planting lettuce between the asparagus rows. She recommends digging with the Garden Tower Plower cobra head. Be aware, however, that asparagus has a huge root structure, and your asparagus tower is likely to become root-bound quickly. It is also important to note that it takes two to three years for an asparagus plant to mature.

Being able to plant your own vegetables provides a sense of accomplishment that few other tasks can give you. For more videos and advice on managing your Garden Tower® 2 planting system, visit the Garden Tower Project today.
